EXPLANATIONS:
- MKK Dividend Payout Index measures the nominal change in total dividend payments of companies traded on BIST Equity Market.
- MKK Dividend Diffusion Index demonstrates the ratio of BIST Equity Market companies that paid cash dividends.
- Dividend Payout Ratio shows the total dividend/profit percentage of BIST Equity Market companies.
- Dividend Per Share ratio shows the total dividend distributed by BIST Equity Market companies in proportion to their capital.
- The MKK Dividend Index and ratios are calculated each year based on the dividends paid in the previous year and announced on the 10th business day of February.
- All companies traded on the BIST Equity Market, whose year-end financial report for the year in which dividend distribution is made is published on KAP system are included in the calculations, regardless of market segment.
- In the calculations, the gross amounts of cash dividends paid by companies are taken into account.
- In the Dividend Payout Index, when there is a difference between companies included in the calculation period and the comparison period, the positive/negative effect of the dividends of the companies on the total dividends of the period is eliminated by correcting the base value and the continuity of the index is ensured.
- Since collection of analyzable data in Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) format in KAP system was started in 2016-Q2, the starting period of the index was determined as end of 2017, which is the first period that can be associated with the 2016 year-end profits, and the base value for the Dividend Payment Index is the total dividends paid in 2017 for 2016, and the starting value is 100.
